While there are many treatment options available for acne both prescription and over the counter, these do not always work for everyone. Acne is the most common skin condition with an incidence of over 90% in adolescents. However, acne may appear for the first time in the mid-twenties or later, and persists for a significant number of people into their forties and fifties. When acne is particularly stubborn or severe a more advanced solution may be needed. Harmony Pro XL AFT Laser Active Acne Treatment is suitable for all skin types (I-VI) and achieves a clearer smoother complexion with lasting results*. The treatment addresses moderate inflammatory acne vulgaris using the power of light only.

What does it treat?

  • Inflammatory acne lesions
  • Comedones (blackheads)
  • Oily skin
  • Open pores

How does it work?

Intense blue-wavelength laser light targets the acne-causing bacteria and rapidly reduces the number of bacteria without damaging the surrounding tissue, this decreases the inflammatory response also.  Additionally, the heat helps to regulate sebum (oil) production, effectively treating the acne and leaving you with a clearer skin.*

How Long Do Laser Active Acne Treatments Take?

The procedure usually takes 30-60 minutes and all areas of the body can be treated. A cooling gel will be applied to the area prior to the treatment. As the laser light pulse impacts onto the skin’s surface there is a sensation of warmth and a short sharp snap feeling similar to the snap of a thin rubber band onto the skin. Numbing cream can be applied if you are particularly sensitive.

How Many Laser Active Acne Treatments Will I Need?

A series of 8 -16 Treatments are usually recommended over a 4- 8 week period, following this further top up maintenance treatments can be taken if required. On average in 2 – 4 weeks the number of active acne lesions has usually been significantly reduced*

Can Active Acne Laser be combined with other treatments?

Yes.  Active Acne Laser can be used alone or as part of a bespoke treatment plan. This works well combined with bespoke LED light treatments and enzyme peel facials.

This treatment can also be combined with Clearlift 4D Laser, Redness Reduction and Micro needling with clear skin growth serums if appropriate for your skin type and condition.  This will be discussed, together with what is likely to be achievable for you, in a free consultation.*

Aftercare

  • Immediately following the treatment the skin will appear red (erythema) and may feel tight and warm. This generally dissipates in a few hours and you may return to your normal duties.
  • Avoid picking or scratching
  • Avoid heat treatments and treat the skin gently, as if you had sunburn, for the first 24 hours
  • Wear SPF sunscreen following treatment
  • Make up can normally be applied immediately (mineral make up preferred)

*Results vary
